I only paid for Pinnacle’s PCTV to go software/hardware to constraint TV clips. But we can’t revise a MPEG2 record in windows film maker. we attempted downloading windows’ encoder program which was ostensible to modify it, though which wouldn’t accept my record format either. Any suggestions?

There are plenty of softwares for converting these files to oyher format. You can use Allok AVI converter, or Jiao System VCD cutter, Nero, and many others.
But the most convinient I have found is Magic Video converter.
Once you convert the MPEG2 format to AVI format you can the file can be edited in Window Movie maker.
But if you simply want to join the parts after then a simple Easy video splitter would do to cut the commercials which you would like to remove. If joining them if difficult here then go for Jiao VCDcutter, you can cut, join, edit the audio, split, mplex. take snapshots and convert to AVI format. But my experience says compressing MPEG to AVI format does not always give good result !

windows movie maker can handle mpeg2 movies. I reccomend you download a program called ‘gspot codec viewer’
search google.
you can use it to detect exactally what codec your video is. itll help make sure that the encoder is the problem, and not the PCTV video file.
